I am an international co-investigator on this interdisciplinary project supported through the Social Sciences Korea (SSK) program of the National Research Foundation of Korea and led by Yonsei University. The project examines how AI-based platforms shape political, social, cultural, and affective polarization across online and offline settings. Combining computational analysis, platform audits, experiments, interviews, and cross-national surveys, the research team seeks to identify strategies for designing more inclusive communication environments. My work focuses on examining the mechanisms of affective polarization on online platforms, developing and testing AI-based approaches to support constructive communication, and investigating how people’s responses to polarization are connected across online and offline contexts.
